Retreat 2010
For the second week, we declared a holiday where we had options to go for excursions, hang out together or just do nothing. During this time, the normal Finca structure of expecting three prepared meals a day didn’t exist! Rather, everyone needed to cook their own meals or make sandwiches while the kitchen renovation was completed.
The most beautiful activity this year was our Dolphin trip.
At six o’clock in the morning we set sail, with the gold/yellow full moon still in the sky. The moon eventually set, and the sun began to rise on the horizon. And then they appeared! Hundreds of playful spotted Dolphins everywhere – surrounding us!
As they finally became tired, the Whales arrived, calmer, and at a bit more of a distance – except for one of them. He really wanted to see us. He swam directly to the boat, then under the nose turned around and looked right at us.
Eating together in the evening didn´t always happen.
No one was really into cooking.
And there were the World Cup games….
During one of the soccer-free evenings, Anton hosted “Burger King” night, with Brian’s help.
Brian was the one to put the french fries into the hot grease.
We had burgers made “á la minute”! Miles even had a double whopper!
For the last night, following our tradition, we all went to the Restaurant Mango.
At a long table we were feasting like Kings and Queens:
Tapas, Wine and good conversations.
We couldn´t be too late, though.
On our schedule the next morning was our 9:15 organizational meeting. We then opened for guests in the afternoon.
Back to normal Finca life…
Many, many nice pics from this years retreat in our Gallery “Life in Play”.
