who is who in the Finca crew
Here is Ashiyani who joined us in may 2007. He is our newest staff member working in the garden team.
He came to us with a big bag of tricks in his luggage. He plays a very unique instrument called the “Hang”, which is a swiss name for hands. You can experience his playing on your next visit and join “Sounds of Inner Peace”, a meditation he offers in our regular meditation programme.
Ashiyani was living for long time in Portugal. He speaks English,Dutch, French, Portuguese, some Spanish and of course German, his native tongue. You will mostly find him working in the plantation and caring for our 3 pools with great diligence and dedication.
There she is, Mamta! The one and only Mamta.Queen of the Finca Reception since 12 years. She is taking care of the booking requests via telephone and e-mail,dealing with the arrivals, the check-ins, the bills, answering the very same questions over and over again with lots of patience.
Mamta is from Stuttgart and well known for being a typical “Schwaben” lady, means counting correctly: The money, the working hours, the good and the bad things in life and keeping it all together. And she is an Osho disciple, dedicated to the path of meditation, self-experience and healing. She is trained as a rebalancer and if she finds the time for it in her busy life schedule, you can book a session with her.
The one she is looking at in the picture is not her boyfriend. It is/was (?) the other one, next to her, Ashiyani.(see above)We cannot tell exactly because they separate regularly….
This is Ruth on her last birthday. Ruth has been associated with the Finca since the year 2000, when she came as part of an experimental work study group in March for a one month program. Since then she has come and gone working for short term mainly, filling in here and there.
Last year she decided to let go of life in Germany and make the Finca her home. She started working in the kitchen and meanwhile, being a staff member too, she also has half a job in the laundry and jumps to help in the garden. The possibility to join meditations and Satsang is what she appreciates the most on the Finca.
